Gilwell Park Landscape & Irrigation Improvements
The summer and fall of 2020 saw Grassroots begin work on major irrigation and landscape renovation of Gilwell Park in Medicine Hat. This is a City of Medicine Hat project and Grassroots is working closely with George Harris Collaborative from Calgary, who is the design and project consultant. The irrigation system was installed in 8 weeks and consisted of the following:
- Full HDPE irrigation installation complete with Butt Fusion and electrofusion connections
- 1100m of 6” HDPE looped mainline
- 64 zones, over 450 heads, and over 10km of HDPE lateral lines (2” & 3”)
- Baseline 3200 and 1000 Decoder controller systems c/w custom cabinet fabrication and installation
- Pumptronics VFD Centrifugal Pump Station c/w custom pump enclosure
The landscape portion of the project will be completed in the spring of 2021 and will consist of alternative landscape methods which include the seeding and sodding of fescue seed and sod around an existing disc golf course on the outer perimeter of the park.
